What kind of fit mask do I need, and what should I do if I have failed fit mask tests in the past?

Fit mask (or respirator) tests are often required as part of onboarding and must be updated annually.

What kind of mask do I need to be fitted for?

Mask requirements vary by facility, as each uses different types of respirators. Even if you already have a current fit test, you may still be required to complete a new one using the specific mask type used at your facility.

You can view your facility’s specific requirements—and access a blank fit mask form—within your Onboarding Checklist.

What if I’ve failed fit mask tests in the past?

If you’ve failed a fit test within the past year, we’ll need documentation of that failed test on file. If you do not have documentation available, we will need to send you in for a new fit mask test.

Keep in mind that each facility has different protocols for on-site fit testing, so your Compliance Coordinator will guide you based on your facility’s specific requirements.
