Do I need a background check for each Trusted assignment?

Background checks are conducted during onboarding for every Trusted assignment, even if you have worked with Trusted in the past.

Please note that we expect you to be honest and accurate when filling out your Trusted profile, specifically the background questions. Not all convictions necessarily disqualify you from working with Trusted on a specific assignment, but falsifying that information can be grounds for a Do Not Rehire (โ€˜DNRโ€™). Please note that background checks will show both open/ pending cases and convictions.

Background check requirements vary based on the facility's needs. Typical requirements include the following searches:

  • County

  • State

  • Federal

  • National Sex Offender

  • OIG/SAM/OFAC

  • Aliases

  • International

Most facilities look for 7 years, but we do see lifetime searches as a requirement for facilities as well.

Your Compliance Coordinator will initiate the background check after you have signed your contract and started Onboarding. Results can take anywhere from 24 hours to multiple weeks to return, dependent upon your personal history and potential delays due to holidays, or court closures.
