Local pay rates are typically within a few hundred dollars of the pay package displayed on the Match, but sometimes there is a larger discrepancy. If you see a Match you are interested in with no mileage requirement listed under the requirements section of the Match details page, you can go ahead and apply. In the special requests section, please be sure to indicate that you are interested in applying as a local traveler.

Firstly if you take a contract as a local assignment, this means your stipends would be rolled into your hourly wages and become taxable income.

Secondly, local contracts do not include guaranteed hours. Facilities have a critical shortage of Clinicians and post these Matches because they anticipate a real need for clinician support. The facility will expect to fully need you for the length of your contract, despite the lack of guaranteed hours.
