Benefits When Extending or Ending Your Contract with Trusted

If You Extend Your Contract at the Same Facility

  • Your benefits will continue uninterrupted.

  • If you take time off between contracts, missed benefit deductions will be caught up on your first paycheck back.

  • You cannot make changes to your benefits unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). A list of QLEs can be found at HealthCare.gov.

If You Have a Gap Between Assignments

  • Gap of 7 Days or Less: If your new assignment (at the same or a different facility) starts within 7 days, your benefits continue from your previous assignment.

  • Gap of 30 Days or Less – Same Month: If your new assignment begins within the same month, your benefits remain active.

  • Gap of 30 Days or Less – New Month

    • Benefits remain active through the end of the month your prior assignment ends.

    • You’ll be automatically re-enrolled in the same benefit plans as of your rehire date.

    • If you previously waived coverage, that decision will carry over.

    • Changes to your benefits are only allowed during open enrollment or with a QLE.

    • You may enroll in COBRA coverage to avoid a gap in insurance.

If You Are Currently Enrolled in COBRA

  • Notify your Care Team immediately upon returning to Trusted to prevent dual coverage.

  • You must cancel COBRA by the end of the month. Contact Discovery, our COBRA broker, using the instructions provided in your COBRA packet.

  • Once canceled, you may enroll in Trusted’s benefits via a QLE.

To submit a QLE:

  • Go to ADP > Myself > Benefits > Enrollment > Report a Life Change

  • Select Add Employee Coverage as your QLE type

If You Have a Gap of More Than 30 Days

  • Benefits remain active through the end of the month in which your assignment ends.

  • If your next assignment starts more than 30 days later, you’ll have the opportunity to elect new benefits effective on your new start date.

  • You may enroll in COBRA to maintain coverage during the gap.

If You Don’t Have a New Assignment Lined Up

  • Your benefits will remain active until the end of the month your contract ends—at no additional cost to you.

  • You’ll receive a COBRA packet by mail from Discovery within 7–14 days of your assignment ending (sent to the address in ADP).

  • COBRA coverage is available only if you were actively enrolled in benefits while on assignment.
