Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) and Special Enrollment

Due to IRS regulations, you cannot make changes to your health insurance benefits outside of Trusted’s annual open enrollment period unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). A QLE gives you access to a special 30-day enrollment window to make changes to your benefits.

How to Submit a QLE in ADP

You have 30 days from the date of the event to submit your benefit changes in ADP. To do so, log into ADP and navigate to:
Myself > Benefits > Enrollment > Report a Life Change

You’ll need to provide:

  • The date the life event occurred

  • Supporting documentation showing the QLE date

📌 Trusted only requires documentation for mid-year changes (QLEs).

QLE Effective Date

Your new benefits or changes will be effective as of the QLE date.

For example, If you get married on July 5, your updated benefits will take effect July 5.

New Hire Exception

If you are still within 30 days of your assignment start date and eligible for a new hire enrollment, you can make any changes to your benefits in ADP by going to:
Myself > Benefits > Enrollments

No QLE is required in this case.
