What experience do I need to be a travel nurse?

Trusted Health must verify that each nurse meets the minimum required experience defined by healthcare facilities. This typically means at least one year (sometimes two) in the role and specialty that you are applying for.ย

Does my CNA, EMT, or Tech experience count towards my total experience?

Although your CNA, EMT, and Tech experience is great and definitely makes your profile shine, it does not count towards the minimum years of experience required. That also goes for your LVN/LPN experience if you are now wanting to travel as a new RN. The experience must be in the role that you are applying for as the scope of practice differs between positions.

With travel assignments, you tend to hit the ground running, which means that recent nursing school graduates and nurses looking to switch specialties are not well-suited for travel contracts.

Do you work with first-time travelers?

We do work with first-time travelers! There may be some Matches that require travel experience, but many positions do not require any former travel experience in order to request an interview. Be sure to read the details carefully for each Match when looking for specific requirements!
