You may be eligible for reimbursement of expenses incurred that are directly related to your Trusted assignment. This might include certifications not typically required for your specialty, a specific embroidered facility uniform (does not apply for specific color requirements only), or initial state licensure specific for a Trusted contract within that state.

โ— Trusted does not reimburse for expenses you may need in order to apply for a job. This means that if you need a Hawaii license in order to apply to a Match, it will not be reimbursable unless you are extended an offer and sign a contract for that assignment with Trusted.

We do not reimburse for items that you would need to maintain for regular employment as a nurse (e.g. critical care positions require ACLS and a critical care nurse would be required to maintain ACLS certification regardless of assignment.)

What expenses are eligible for reimbursement?

Certifications.

New certifications that are required by the facility but are not a standard requirement to practice within the unit/specialty are eligible for reimbursement. For example, it is expected that every licensed nurse has an active BLS to practice clinically, and thus any expenses incurred to obtain or renew a BLS are not eligible for reimbursement. If the certification is eligible for reimbursement, we will also reimburse for course materials required to complete the certification.

Licensure.

New licensure will be considered reimbursable if obtaining the license is required for a Trusted assignment and the effective date via NURSYS or primary source verification is within 90 days of the start date of the contract. This includes reinstating a previously expired state licensure if the license is required for your initial Trusted assignment. Expenses associated with the license are also considered reimbursable. Trusted does not reimburse for the cost of ongoing licensure renewal. This means that you would be responsible for the costs of renewing your license if it expires while you are on assignment with Trusted or will expire if you decide to extend your assignment with Trusted.

What expenses are NOT eligible for reimbursement?

Certification.

Trusted does not reimburse for renewal of an expiring credential. This also is true even if you need to renew your certification (that was previously reimbursed by Trusted for your initial assignment) in order to extend your current assignment with Trusted.

Licensure.

Trusted will not cover the cost of ongoing renewals of a state license. This also is true even if you need to renew your license (that was previously reimbursed by Trusted for your initial assignment) in order to extend your current assignment with Trusted.

Where to find what certification or license is required?

On the Match detail page, and when you apply, you can see the license and certification requirements.

  • Licensure: You can view which license is required for the job and whether or not an active license is required to apply at the time of application.

  • Certifications: You can view which certifications are required for the job and whether or not they are required to have in hand when you apply or if they can be obtained during onboarding. Keep in mind that for some certifications, it may be required to be obtained from a specific issuing body, but not to worry we will always list that under the certification!
