What is a VA interview?
The Voice Advantage (VA) interview is a recorded interview system used by some of the facilities we work with. The VA acts as a pre-screen and is hopefully the next step to getting an offer! This replaces an interview with the manager.
Keep in mind that the facility will be looking at the whole picture of your work experience, and the VA interview is just one piece that they will use.
Who is AMN? I thought I applied through Trusted Health. Will AMN be my agency?
The facility you applied to utilizes a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to manage their travel nurses, called AMN. If offered the position, you would be employed by Trusted Health.
What does the VA interview consist of?
The interview consists of two parts—an online/written portion with questions about your skill set, followed by an audio portion with 2-5 situational questions about workplace experiences. You complete the written questions online, then you will be prompted to call a number and enter a PIN to record the audio questions over the phone. Important note: There is no time limit for the written questions, however, the voice recordings have a 2-minute limit per question.
Is this a video interview or will I speak to a manager?
No, this is an automated process and only involves online questions followed by a voice recording. This will replace the typical process of speaking to a manager for an interview.
I got two VA Interviews, do I need to complete both?
AMN will send a separate interview for each specialty you apply for, as the questions are specialty specific. It is recommended you complete both in order to remain in consideration for all of the positions you have applied to!
How long do I have to complete the VA interview?
You’ll need to complete this within 24 business hours of receiving it to remain in consideration for the position. The sooner you complete it, the better!
How long will this take me to complete?

What happens after the VA Interview is completed?
Once completed, AMN is automatically notified. They will review your responses to determine if you qualify for the position. If you are not eligible to move forward, AMN will decline your application and you will receive an email from Trusted. If you pass the VA interview and receive an offer, your Nurse Advocate will reach out to you!
What if I have questions about the position, unit, or other job-specific questions?
Once you get an offer we can address any questions you have, as we typically will have more information at that time.
How long does AMN keep the VA interview on file?
AMN keeps each VA interview on file for 12 months (with the exception of Kaiser, which keeps VAs on file for 3 years).
I am no longer interested in this job or I have already taken an assignment elsewhere or I have extended my current assignment, what do I do?
We still recommend you complete the VA interview. The interviews are kept on file for an entire year and can come in handy if you decide to apply for another job at a later time. VA interviews are used for several facilities and having them completed will give you a leg-up in the future!
