How do the pay and contract terms change when you take a local contract?

Local contracts do not contain stipends. Stipends are the allowance for any lodging, meals, and incidental expenses incurred as a result of working away from your tax home. Because you are not working away from your tax home when you are working on a local contract, you cannot receive stipends. Please reach out to your nurse advocate if you are interested in a local contract.

Local contracts also do not include guaranteed hours. However, facilities have a critical shortage of clinicians and post these matches because they anticipate a real need for clinician support. The facility will expect to fully need you for the length of your contract, despite the lack of guaranteed hours.
