How do I enroll in or change my benefits during my contract? What is a qualifying life event (QLE)?
Qualifying Life Event
Due to IRS guidelines, you cannot make changes to your health insurance benefits outside of your employer's annual open enrollment period unless you experience a qualifying life event (QLE). A QLE makes you eligible for a special enrollment period.
You have 30 days from the date of your qualifying event to submit your requested change in ADP (see below) and you will be asked to include:
Supporting documents.
The date the change occurred.
Outside of a special enrollment period, the only opportunity you have to make a change is during our annual open enrollment.The only exception to this rule is if you are still within 30 days of your assignment start date and you were eligible for a new hire enrollment event as a result of starting this assignment. In that case, you can make any changes to your benefits enrollments by logging into ADP and navigating to Myself > Benefits > Enrollments.
QLE Effective Date
The effective start date of your QLE enrollment becomes the QLE date. (i.e. If you get married on July 5, your change/enrollment is effective July 5th.)

Below are examples of qualifying life events and supporting documents. All documents must include the QLE date.
Trusted only requires documentation for mid-year events (i.e. QLE special enrollment period)

Submitting a QLE Request in ADP
Navigate to Myself > Benefits > Enrollment > Report a Life Change.
Pick the most appropriate QLE Type for your event & select if dependents need to be added.
Confirm that your dependent information is correct (if applicable) and select ‘Continue to Enrollments’ to select your plans.
Choose your plans and coverage level (i.e. You or Yourself + Spouse).
Upload your supporting documents which include the QLE date, and click Save.
Review the summary and ensure everything looks correct, select Submit Enrollment.
You’ll see a confirmation notice after you’ve successfully submitted it. The HR team will review your documents/submissions and approve them within 1 business day.
