What's a call-back rate?
The call-back rate is the specific pay rate applied to your pay when you are called back to your facility while you’re on call. The call-back rate applies for all hours worked in response to a request to return to the facility.
When does my call-back rate apply?
If you’re called back to your facility while you’re on call, the call-back rate applies for all hours worked in response to the request to return to the facility. You are compensated for a minimum of 2 hours when you are "called back". Keep in mind, we require you to be clocked out and leave the facility for at least 30-minutes to qualify for the 2-hour minimum call back pay.
Call-back rates can be applied to hours worked immediately adjacent to the contracted shift, if "on-call" hours are present. Hours that are worked directly before your regular shift started and/or directly after your regular shift has ended when “on-call” will be paid at the “call-back” rate, but are NOT trued up to a minimum of 2 hours.
Example: Your regular shift is from 7am-7pm and your on-call shift starts at 7pm You work from 7am-7:30pm, so you will be paid your regular rate from 7am-7pm and then your call back rate from 7pm-7:30pm
Your call back would not be trued up to 2 hours because you did not clock out and leave the facility for 30 minutes.
If your “in” and “out" punches indicate 30 minutes of time elapsed while “on-call”, and you are called in to work you will be paid at the “call-back” rate and will be trued up to a minimum of 2 hours.
Example: Your regular shift is from 7am - 7pm and your on-call shift starts at 7pm You work from 7am- 7pm then clocked out and left the facility. Later, you were called back into work and worked from 8:15pm - 9pm, so you will be paid your call back rate for 2 hours.
Your call back would be trued up to 2 hours because you clocked out and left the facility for at least 30 minutes prior to being called back in.
What if my facility has different call-back terms & conditions than Trusted's?
In our continued efforts to equitably compensate our clinicians for call back and on call hours, our policy is to pay all clinicians according to our terms and conditions. As you may be familiar, facility policies apply to facility employees but don't always extend to contracted clinicians. As a Trusted clinician, our terms & conditions provide the guidance for your working experience.
In all aspects of our compensation packages, we strive to offer the best pay possible. This applies to many areas: call-back, holiday pay, guaranteed hours, etc. To ensure consistent treatment of Trusted clinicians, we pay based on the terms & conditions of our contract. This may not match facility policy or payments exactly in all cases.
