What experience do I need to travel?
Trusted Health must verify that each clinician meets the minimum required experience defined by healthcare facilities. This typically means at least one year (sometimes two) in the role and specialty that you are applying for.Β
Does my CNA, EMT, or Tech experience count towards my total experience?
While any clinical experience outside of the role you are applying for is valuable and certainly strengthens a profile, it unfortunately does not count toward the minimum years of experience required for a travel assignment. This is because each role has its own scope of practice, and the experience must be relevant to the specific position a clinician is applying for.
Let's say a nurse recently graduated from an RN program, but previously worked as an LPN and before that, a tech. If that nurse wants to start traveling as an RN, they would need to meet the minimum years of experience required working as an RN. The years of LPN and tech experience are value adds, but do not count towards that minimum.
Travel assignments require clinicians to hit the ground running, so they are typically better suited for individuals with recent clinical experience in the role they are applying for. As a result, new school graduates or clinicians transitioning into a new specialty or field may find travel contracts challenging.
Do you work with first-time travelers?
We do work with first-time travelers! There may be some Matches that require travel experience, but many positions do not require any former travel experience in order to request an interview. Be sure to read the details carefully for each Match when looking for specific requirements!
